This project focused on a young person going through athletic training in upstate New York. We wanted to highlight their discipline and physical dedication to their goals.

Our locations tell this portion of the story. Working closely with the Schenectady County Films Commission we permitted several outdoor locations as we built shots around our Rocky Balboa style storyline. A key shot surrounded our talent running on a fall road as the sun rose, so we made friends with a local farmer, Herb Smith who agreed to let us utilize his ‘pole barn’ in exchange for an apple pie. Thanks to him, we integrated his u-shaped drive as part of our vehicle safety plan while working on rural roads (along with other precautions).

Another key element was our gym - pictured below. We wanted to find a pre-2000s time capsule that would utilize original hard word floors and seriously practical equipment and weights while allowing us to manipulate the light as needed. We met a local UFC fighter ‘Jimmy Jact Cash’ who allowed us to utilize his private workout club and cafe for our shoot day.
